L’altro ieri ,26 Novembre a New York, sono stati assegnati i Gotham Awards 2018, i premi per il cinema indipendente e primissimi premi della Award Season di quest’anno.
The Rider vince il premio per il miglior film, ma sono First Reformed di Paul Shafter e Eighth Grade dell’esordiente Bo Burnham i veri protagonisti della serata, con due premi ciascuno. Hereditary di Ari Aster si accontenta di un solo premio alla Miglior Attrice per Toni Collette, mentre film come Sorry To Bother You e If Beale Street Could Talk di Barry Jankins rimangono a bocca asciutta. The Favourite di Yorgos Lanthimos si rifà della mancata vittoria come miglior film con il premio per il miglior cast alle sue tre strepitose protagoniste: Rachel Weisz (anche premio alla carriera), Emma Stone e Olivia Colman.
